About BobbinBot and our guides
BobbinBot turns a logo, a drawing or a name into an embroidery file for your machine. Before you pay, it shows the stitches and a green, yellow or red verdict on how the design will sew.
What BobbinBot does
You upload a picture or type a name, pick the item and your machine, and get a stitch file in every common machine format, with a sew-out kit for the first try. The engine cleans the picture to flat thread colors, traces it into shapes and has Ink/Stitch, the open-source embroidery program, write the stitches. Then it checks the finished file for problems before you see it. It does not use a generative AI model.
Next to the paid stitch files there are free tools: a viewer, a converter, a checker and a picture simplifier.
How our guides are made
Every number in a guide comes from one of three places, and the guide says which:
- Our engine and its settings. Runs of the same engine that makes your files, and the settings it uses, such as fabric settings and size limits, named by the file they live in.
- Output we measured. Files we made and read back, and screenshots we took ourselves.
- A linked primary source. The Ink/Stitch documentation, the code of the libraries we use, or a machine or software maker's own pages. These are listed under Sources at the end of each guide.
If we cannot back a number, we leave it out. Stitch pictures in the guides are simulations drawn from the stitch file, and they are labeled as such; they are not photos of thread. We do not show ratings, reviews or customer counts unless they come from real reports.
Test sew-outs
We have not started test sew-outs on fabric yet, so no guide claims one. When we do, the guide will name the machine, the fabric and the stabilizer, and show the photos. Photos sent in by people who sewed a BobbinBot design appear only when they agreed to show them.
When guides change
Each guide shows the date it was published and the date it last changed. The updated date only moves when the content does: new numbers after an engine change, a correction, or a sew-out result. When the engine changes, we run the guide's tests again and the numbers on the page come from that new run.
Found a mistake?
Email support@bobbinbot.com with the page and what is wrong. If you can, include how you know: a sew-out, a manual or a link. We fix confirmed mistakes and update the date on the page.
